Being originally from England, football (soccer) is naturally my sport. I'm a lifelong Manchester United fan and this sport is very much a part of me. To my surprise, shortly after moving to Charlotte, The Queen City had been awarded the next MLS franchise expansion. As it stands, there are six potential names for Charlotte's new team... and I hope it's Charlotte FC.

A fond nickname for Charlotte, eagerly adopted by the locals. Charlotte is called the Queen City because it was named for King George III of Great Britain's wife, Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz
